"I wanted to extend a thank you for a wonderful weekend at the AAPNA convention. All the presentations were very educational and the food was delicious. The weekend affirmed my commitment to Ayurveda. As a nurse, I am hoping I will able to assist in lobbying for the licensure of Ayurvedic practitioners. Ayurveda can stand alone and it can also be a wonderful complement to Western medicine". - Suzanne, New York, USA

Thank you for your comment on my face book posting of the recent speech I delivered at the Houses of Parliament, UK. I am aware of your work in the US and the wonderful cross-pollination of Ayurveda and Yoga you have been spearheading for several years now. Please accept my sincere congratulations. I very much welcome your support to create a deserved place for Ayurveda and Yoga in the world and please also feel free to count upon me should you like my involvement in your activities. Fortunately, I have had the best of Ayurvedic training, vedic upbringing combined with my research experience as a public health specialist from New Zealand. Now that I have moved to the UK and still very much involved in the world's largest study on women's health from Australia, I am able to connect with several influential people who are keen on promoting Ayurveda and Yoga. I truly believe that redefining Ayurvedic training to reflect its holistic model, training ayurvedic practitioners to deliver Ayurveda authentically and making it culturally relevant, building research capacity for Ayurveda and political engagement are the four key aspects we all need to be putting our energies into. I am grateful for having extensive experience in all these four areas and I am sure we can join forces to create a meaningful exchange between the UK and the US (of course, we can include Australia and NZ too). Thank you once again for your supportive words and I look forward to keeping our communication going. Hopefully, we will meet sooner than later. Thank you Dr. Shekhar Annambhotla for inviting me to be an adviser. It's a pleasure to join a prospective thinking organisation with a grand vision to create a worthwhile platform globally for Ayurveda and Yoga. - Dr. Vijayendra Murthy, BAMS, MS, MPH, PhD, London, United Kingdom

It is important that professional Ayurvedic organizations exist, with an international view, with firm connections with Ayurvedic groups in India, as well as sensitivity to the unique health needs and cultural forms existing in every country. AAPNA can function as a key global Ayurvedic organization. Its international ties, its willingness to work with a diversity of groups, its professional standards, and its dialogue with integrative medicine are of great value for such future work. Ayurveda needs a powerful Sangha or community of a global nature. AAPNA can be an important part of that manifestation. I am happy to be associated with AAPNA.

I am very proud and honored to be associated with AAPNA. It is a great resource for the ayurvedic community worldwide. Its focus on ayurvedic education, practice, therapies and research is bridging the gap between east and west. AAPNA can provide guidance and support for ayurvedic students, teachers & practitioners, which will globally establish ayurveda as a true natural medicine.

AAPNA started as a discussion group of ayurvedic professionals in 2003 has now grown into an international organization uniting and integrating the ayurvedic as well as conventional health professionals, academic institutes & corporations. Today AAPNA is propagating and working toward legitimizing Ayurveda as a complete health care system. Despite the widespread acknowledgment, the US administration has not yet passed a national law concerning regulation of ayurvedic clinical practice. Consequently, there is no official regulation for the education programs and practice of ayurveda. This creates public confusion, since there is no standardization of the training of ayurvedic professionals, nor regulation of the import and sale of ayurvedic supplements. AAPNA can be and should be an important forum for this cause, and I am sure AAPNA will work hard to create an international network of excellence in research, education, training and clinical practice.

It gives me immense pleasure to see the ancient wisdom of ayurveda being embraced in modern society, communication, knowledge and research through AAPNA and its active role all around the globe. It is needed for this hour, where anything is made readily available in less time, and can be experienced by more. I wish AAPNA great success and prosperity in integrating the conventional and the ancient to promote universal good health and longevity.

It is my honor and immense pleasure to be part of AAPNA. AAPNA is not just an organization for North American ayurvedic professionals, but it is a powerful global platform for ayurvedic doctors worldwide. AAPNA provides a very rich informative portal for Ayurvedic professionals. It also schedules informative periodic teleconferences and annual conferences to impart the latest research updates and facilitate networking and collaboration amongst professionals all over the world. AAPNA has plans for regulating and licensing ayurveda in North America. This will be a big leap for ayurveda in North America. I feel proud to be associated with AAPNA.

AAPNA is doing great a job to make ayurveda extraordinary. We need colleges and universities in the USA that provide an in-depth education in ayurvedic medicine by providing an internationally standardized curriculum in ayurvedic medicine, and I strongly believe AAPNA can provide a soild platform to grow ayurveda in the west. I am proud to be a part of AAPNA.
