Code of Ethics & Conduct

Code of Ethics
  1. I will do no harm.
  2. I will strive to create an environment of harmony and respect for myself, those with whom I work and with my clients.
  3. I will maintain the highest standards of professional and personal conduct.
  4. I will be aware of and abide by all federal, state, and local laws.
  5. I will continue to practice the healing power of “drug less” modalities and sciences.
  6. I will provide a comfortable and safe atmosphere for my clients.
  7. I will be honest with my clients, offering the best products, services, information and referrals possible.
  8. I will continue learning and sharing ayurveda, holistic and natural health information so that I can offer the highest quality of care to my clients.
  9. I will respect my clients religious beliefs and will not discriminate against those who have different beliefs or opinions.
  10. I will not participate in unethical procedures.
  11. I will consult and seek the talents of other health care professionals in strict confidentiality when such consultation would benefit my client.

Code of Conduct
Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America, Inc. (AAPNA) code of conduct is a declaration of acceptable ethical and professional behavior by which all registrants agree to conduct the practice, teaching and business of Ayurveda and Vedic sciences. It is not intended to supersede the ethics of any profession or practice or school or tradition but is intended to be a basis for Ayurveda and Vedic principles. As a Registered Ayurvedic and Vedic Science Professional or Registered School of Ayurveda and Vedic Sciences, I agree to uphold the following ethical principles:


  1. Conduct myself in a professional and conscientious manner. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring that I live up to any commitments I make to my clients, colleagues, students or to the public, and ensuring that my practices and behavior conform to the representations I make about myself in holding myself out as a Registered Ayurvedic Professional and Registered Vedic Science Professional who adheres to certain precepts.
  2. Acknowledge the limitations of my professional educational training and skills and scope of practice and where appropriate, refer clients, students to seek alternative instruction, advice, therapy or direction.
  3. Create and maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment for the clients and students practice of Ayurveda and Vedic sciences.
  4. Adhere to the traditional Ayurvedic and Vedic principles as written in the Ayurvedic and Vedic scriptures and textbooks.
  5. Respect the rights, dignity and privacy of all clients and students.
  6. Avoid words and actions that constitute sexual harassment or harassment based on other legal protected characteristics.
  7. Encourage diversity by respecting all clients and students regardless of age, physical limitations, race, creed, gender, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation.
  8. Follow all local government and national laws that pertain to my Ayurveda and Vedic science practice and teaching and business.

I understand that Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America, Inc. (AAPNA) registration may revoke my right to use the AAPNA logo and link for cause, including failure to uphold the standards set forth in the code of conduct. Prior to revoking my right to use the AAPNA logo and link, Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America, Inc. (AAPNA) will provide me notice of the basis for the potential revocation and an opportunity to respond in writing. After review of the evidence, Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America, Inc. (AAPNA) will issue a decision as to whether to revoke my registration certificate, credentials, based on its reasonable judgment of the evidence before it. I agree to hold Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America, Inc. (AAPNA) harmless for any losses or damage I may incur as a consequence of the revocation of my registration certificate and credentials.
